We didn’t want to wait five hours for Franklin BBQ and settled for some great BBQ from Stubbs instead.
Barton Springs pool covers 3 acres and stays 68 degrees year round. It is fed by naturally occurring underground springs.

The sunsets kept getting better as we left Austin to venture to Big Bend National Park in South West Texas
Henry hopped in the hot springs that sit flush with the Rio Grande and Mexico

We ran into a pack of Javalinas and then I learned that Javalinas are an animal that exists.
We hiked about 10 miles a day while in Big Bend.

We spent the night at this beautiful and empty field. The next morning we woke early and went on a Wild Cave Tour at Carlsbad Caverns. No photos from that, I couldn’t army crawl through the cave with my phone.
We finally made it to the West Coast! The first time for both Henry and me. We pulled into San Diego and went straight to happy hour. The next day we rose early and went on a hike to Potato Chip Rock. Pretty surreal huh?
Sea Lions lined the beaches at La Jolla Cove and there were baby ones too!
I see why people don’t think we will head back east. Happy January!
